Our Holistic Approach

Education is a key component of the holistic approach of our program. We operate a fully accredited (AdvancED) education program that is integrated into each young woman’s treatment program. Many young women in our program have struggled with school in the past and are likely in need of credit repair. Our school is expert in credit repair and often getting our young women on grade level while in the program. Young women, under appropriate circumstances, can earn their high school diploma and even prepare for college while in the program. As a young woman begins to work on her underlying issues, their success educational steadily grows. Conversely, as a young woman finds some success academically, it likewise translates into helping her in her therapy. As a result, we view education not as a separate endeavor within the program but a critical component of her overall treatment.

Educational Program

Most of the young women in our program have not performed well in the public school system. As a result, we are not content to recreate that system in the program. Additionally, because of the difficult situations experienced by our young women in public schools, it is normal to have young women of similar ages on very different grade and skill levels and sometimes young women of very different ages who are on similar grade and skill levels. We overcome these difficulties by utilizing a combination of in-class instruction, GradPoint web-based instruction and experiential opportunities which involve learning through all the senses. It is our philosophy that the best education creates opportunities to learn all day long and in every situation and our educational staff and program are flexible enough to not only provide such opportunities but to, in appropriate circumstances, assign credit for them as well.


Academic Design and Structure

Much of our success with our students academically is due to our 8 student to 1 teacher ratio. This allows us to create an intimate learning environment where our teachers are able to manage students on different grade levels with different learning styles. We provide experiential opportunities for learning as well including different field trips, guest speakers, outdoor recreation of our beautiful backyard in Southern Utah, and more. Understanding the backgrounds and learning styles of our young women allow us to create an exceptional and individualized learning environment.

“When I arrived, I had 8 high school credits. I was a 17-year-old freshman with little hope of graduating. During the year I was in the program I completed all 24 high school credits and was able to earn a high school diploma. I was also able to retake some courses that I had previously failed.
